Throughout the di Rosa collection are examples of how a hat can be both an artistic expression and a representation of personal identity. Join us in expressing your own personal identity by selecting one of our provided hats as a starting point and turning it into a piece of wearable art by decorating it with personal and found objects, painting, and modification.

Cold Fusion Floral Bouquets
Art Instructor: Josanna Zavala
Learn how to use tools for metal assemblage and hone your cold fusion techniques to create a bouquet and vase from a diverse inventory of recovered and recycled materials including scrap metal, beads, buttons, jewelry, wire, and adhesives. Families will tour select artworks to see how artists fuse together disparate materials to create something fresh and unusual before creating their own one-of-a-kind sculptures.

Paper Puzzles & Collection Collages
Art Instructor: Kristina Young
Come discover what mosaic pieces can do when you put them together like puzzles to create the larger image, and the surprising designs that change when you look at them closely and then again from far away. After reviewing selected works on view, families will work together to explore collage and mosaic techniques using pre-cut papers and small objects to create mixed-media artworks.
