Collectors Council Visits Oakland Museum, Squeak Carnwath, and More
di Rosa’s Collectors Council enjoyed a spring reception and visit to a private collection, plus visits to the Oakland Museum of California and the studio of Squeak Carnwath, to celebrate another year of viewing and collecting art in the tradition of patronage that formed the di Rosa collection. Since its inception in 2008, the di Rosa Collectors Council has brought together a group of passionate art lovers, to view and share extraordinary private art collections in Wine Country, while providing lead support for the di Rosa’s development as a distinctive and creative public museum. Art: It’s Alive!: The 8th Annual Benefit Art Auction at di Rosa
di Rosa’s Annual Benefit Art Auction is a popular and smashing success, raising critical funds each year to support exhibitions and education programs. The lively event begins with cocktails followed by dinner and live auction in the Main Gallery, concluding with a silent auction and dancing at the after-party in the Gatehouse. The live auction features extraordinary works of original art donated by notable Bay Area artists and galleries, as well as art, wine, and travel lots. Art work featured in 2009 was by such renowned artists as Nathan Oliveira, Deborah Oropallo, Richard Shaw, Enrique Chagoya, Robert Hudson, Paul Kos, Jim Melchert, Gordon Huether, Robert Brady, Kara Maria, Freddy Chandra, and Tara Tucker.
