In conjunction with Based on a True Story: Highlights from the di Rosa Collection, join us for a talk by Anastasia Aukeman followed by a signing of her new book Welcome to Painterland: Bruce Conner and the Rat Bastard Protective Association (2016; more info).
Aukeman’s talk will explore the work of Bruce Conner and the close-knit community of San Francisco artists that he named the Rat Bastard Protective Association, many of whom are featured in the exhibition, including Joan Brown, Jay DeFeo, Wally Hedrick, and Manuel Neri. Refreshments will be served and guests will have an opportunity to view the exhibition.

Dr. Anastasia Aukeman is an art historian, curator, and professor at Parsons School of Design in New York City.
