Bruce Conner was born in 1933 in McPherson, Kansas and died in 2008 in San Francisco, California. He earned a BFA from the University of Nebraska in 1956. His work is held in numerous collections, including the Oakland Museum of California, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the National Gallery of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), MoMA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and SFMOMA.
