Manuel Neri was born in 1930 in Sanger, California. He studied at several universities, including UC Berkeley, California College of Arts and Crafts, and California School of Fine Arts (San Francisco Art Institute). His work is held in numerous collections, including the Art Institute of Chicago, Crocker Art Museum, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, the Oakland Museum of California, SFMOMA, and San José Museum of Art.
