Assistant to the Camp Director
REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Education & Civic Engagement
CLASSIFICATION: part-time hourly, non-exempt
RATE: $18-$22/hour depending on experience

AVAILABILITY
Join the team as the Assistant to the Camp Director for our summer camps! We are hiring this assistant to start on June 23th and work through all four weeks of camp.

Summer camp weeks are July 7-11, July 14-18, July 21-25 & July 28- August 1.
Two days of training/prep will take place on June 26 and June 27.

SUMMARY
Assistant to the Camp Director reports to the Associate Director of Education & Civic Engagement and supports in many aspects of camp operations, including administrative tasks and communication, activity setup and clean up, and other tasks as necessary. Flexibility, attention to detail, and ability to work with both children and adults are essential.

Art Instructor

Art Instructors report to the Associate Director of Education & Civic Engagement and are responsible for providing quality visual arts instruction at Camp di Rosa. This active position works with staff to deliver exciting and innovative art experiences that are fun, informative, and inspire the creative potential in participants. Visual art time at Camp di Rosa utilizes media such as painting, clay and printmaking. Art making ideas are generated from the abundant art and nature found at di Rosa. Instructors will work side by side with Nature Instructors and Camp Leaders in Training. Nature experiences at Camp di Rosa involve activities like fishing, archery, bird watching, hiking, plant and flower identification.

Volunteers at di Rosa lead public tours, assist at our admissions desk, provide occasional office support, and help out at programs and events. Volunteers enjoy many benefits, including experiences that can only happen behind the scenes at di Rosa.

Pop-Up Gallery Host at di Rosa Downtown

di Rosa Downtown is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to help run our satellite pop-up gallery. This is a great opportunity for individuals who love contemporary art, enjoy engaging with the public, and want to support di Rosa’s mission of connecting audiences with the art and artists of Northern California.

 

Public Tour Docent Training Program

Docents provide tours to the general public. Public tours include insights into di Rosa’s current special exhibitions as well as the permanent collection. Public tours incorporate both the artwork on view in the galleries as well as outdoor sculptures throughout the property.

Applicants must be comfortable with public speaking and engaging with groups of people. Weekend availability is required. Docents lead a minimum of two tours a months and are expected to stay up to date with exhibitions through ongoing training sessions. Volunteers are expected to commit to two years of service once they are fully on boarded.

 

Art + Nature Hike Guides

We’re looking for a few enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers passionate about art and the outdoors to serve as guides for our monthly Art + Nature Hikes. Hike guides lead visitors on nature trails through our grounds, including on our quarterly hikes to Milliken Peak, creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.
